A Lake City woman was arrested Monday and charged with burglary after detectives found stolen property in her yard and home, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives identified Brandy Colwell, 30, as a suspect in several recent burglaries that occurred in the Lake City Country Club.  They found stolen property in her yard and house, according to the CCSO.

Colwell was charged with a single burglary and theft charge.

During an interview with detectives, Colwell admitted her 13-year-old child was with her during a burglary where a victim fired a gun as they fled the scene, according to CCSO.

Colwell is being held in the Columbia County Detention facility on no bond, pending at least nine other burglary charges.
