ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

St. Johns County deputies are searching for a man who stole a license plate they said was placed on a vehicle used during a robbery.

Officials say detectives initially responded to assist in locating a vehicle used in a robbery on Thursday in DeLand. Detectives were given the tag number that was on the vehicle at the scene, which was tracked back to St. Johns County.

When investigators attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle, they learned the Florida tag had been stolen in recent months.

Anyone with information on the man pictured above is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477.
