JACKSONVILE, Fla. – When 15-year-old Allison Haramis (pictured below) died in a car accident on the way home from the Episcopal School of Jacksonville, the last thing her parents could even think about was planning her funeral.
Months after her death, her mother realized she must not have been alone. Fortunately, she and her husband were able to manage the costs of burying their daughter. But there are many families who simply can't afford it.

It's the reason Angels for Allison was created. To date, the nonprofit organization has helped 100 families pay for burial costs.
"We've provided $160,000 to local families in need," said Gina Donahoo, who works with the organization.
Money is raised by selling angel figurines that are hand-painted by volunteers. There are also T-shirts, ties, tumblers, hair bows and pins with the Angels for Allison monogram that are available for sale.
Those items will be sold Saturday during the Festival of Flight, which is the organization's largest fundraiser. There will be food trucks, live music, games and football during the free event. It runs from 2-6 p.m. at Memorial Park at 1620 Riverside Ave.
