TELL US: What do you think about the Jags 1st round pick after trading back during NFL Draft?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fans at the Duuuval Drafty Party were holding out Thursday night for the Jaguars pick after the team decided to switch it up during the 2024 NFL Draft.

It was a sea of teal and black at the EverBank Stadium.

The Jaguars traded back from their No. 17 spot in the first round, moving back for the second consecutive season.

“What is this? What is this?!,” one fan screamed after the switch. “Every year we trade back. Did we just lose our pick?”

Jacksonville sent the 17th pick to Minnesota for pick No. 23, No. 167 and third- and fourth-round selections in the 2025 draft.

Most fans News4JAX spoke with said the team needed to pick a cornerback.

There was so much excitement in the air as fans anticipated the Jags to name their pick, despite it being a work or school night, fans were still holding out to hear the team’s choice.

Finally, once the team’s choice was announced, the crowd went crazy. LSU receiver Brian Thomas Jr. will be coming to Jacksonville to represent that teal and black.

The Jaguars made a trade down and turned their attention to offense in the first round of the NFL draft, picking 6-4, 205-pound Thomas to give Trevor Lawrence a major weapon.

The fans seemed happy with this draft pick. They said Lawrence needs someone to catch those passes and Thomas fits the bill.

What do you think about the first-round pick?
