FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. -

A 56-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Flagler County, and investigators are trying to learn more about what happened.

State troopers said Mark Weins, of North Haven, Connecticut, was driving north on North Oceanshore Boulevard when his car drifted onto the east shoulder and then back into the roadway.

The car then swerved northeast, spun clockwise and went onto the east shoulder. Troopers said the car struck a palm tree, went airborne and struck a metal fence, then came to a stop.

Weins died at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt. Troopers said blood alcohol results are pending.

Investigators don't know what time the crash happened. If anyone has any information about the crash or earlier whereabouts of Weins, call Cpl. Steven Howard at 904-825-5080 or email stevenhoward@flhsmv.gov.
