ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

A 41-year-old Deltona man was arrested Friday afternoon on charges of kidnapping, domestic battery and drug charges.

Francis Knuck III was booked into the St. Johns County jail.

Investigators said just after 2 p.m. at a State Road 207 and Interstate 95 Hess convenience store, a woman approached a man at the gas pumps and handed him a note seeking help.

The note advised that she was being held against her will and to contact her father. She then got back into a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck with a cracked windshield and the man drove the two away, deputies said.

The witness notified a nearby deputy.

At 4:15 p.m., deputies said they learned that the vehicle and two occupants were in the parking lot of the southbound rest stop in the southern end of the county. Deputies responded to the area and located the vehicle and two people.

The 31-year-old woman was taken to a shelter while the suspect was secured and arrested without incident, deputies said.

Deputies said they also located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
