JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -

A 27-year-old man accused of raping a woman who responded to his call for an escort is charged with armed sexual battery, according to Jacksonville Beach police.

According to the arrest report, Michael Dinkins contacted a woman who advertised on BackPage.com and arranged for her to come to his home on Eighth Avenue South.

When the woman said he needed to pay $150 and use a condom to have sex with her, he pulled a handgun, held her down and raped her, she told officers.

The victim said Dinkins allowed her to get dressed and leave, but when his roommates came downstairs to investigate the loud noises, they told police he blocked the door with his body, and held out a kitchen knife while telling them no one was leaving the house.

Dinkins was arrested and charged with sexual battery and four counts of false imprisonment.
