ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 28-year-old St. Johns County man charged with felony cruelty to animals has now entered another plea of no contest after being allowed to withdraw his original plea.
Randal Hart is charged with stabbing his dog, Amber. After his arrest, Hart gave up ownership of the dog, and it was adopted by St. Johns County Deputy Dan Sorrells.

In April, Hart told the judge he suffers from schizophrenia and didn't understand what he was doing. The judge allowed him to withdraw his initial plea of no contest.
On Tuesday, Hart entered the same plea again. His sentencing is set for July 19, and he faces up to five years in prison.
