ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested Saturday after deputies said he left his three kids -- ages 6, 7 and 8 -- alone in a hotel room for 23 hours.
Deputies were called to the Knights Inn room, rented by Steven Klein, 43, after receiving reports that the children were left unattended there.

A neighbor told deputies Klein asked her around 2 a.m. to watch the kids for about 30 minutes, but he never returned and never called to check on them.
Deputies said the children told them it wasn't the first time Klein left them alone.
The children were placed in the care of the Department of Children and Families, which will be investigating further.
Klein was charged with three counts of child abuse.
