COCOA, Fla. -

Police say a man who was mistakenly released from jail is back in custody.

Lamanceo Dorsey was supposed to be held to see a judge.  Instead, jail staff allowed Dorsey, who was on probation for a heroin conviction, to post bail at $7,000.  Authorities say, according to court order, he should have been held without bail.

Dorsey walked out the same day, April 30, after being arrested on burglary and grand theft charges.

Authorities say jail staff thought his most recent arrest replaced the administrative order.

Florida Today reports police arrested Dorsey Wednesday.  Authorities now must decide how to proceed with his probation violation.
