Man celebrates 40th birthday with $1M scratch-off win

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -

A Middleburg man is celebrating his 40th birthday by claiming a $1 million prize in the 100X THE CASH scratch-off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

Christopher Wise, who turned 40 last week, chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $719,484.14.

He purchased his winning ticket from Racetrac, located at 2501 Blanding Blvd. in Middleburg.

The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
