JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 42-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after the truck he was driving left the road, hit a tree and ran into a fence, according to police.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said James Abrams was driving north on Cheswick Oak Avenue after 1 a.m., apparently intending to turn right onto Argyle Forest Boulevard. Instead, the car proceeded straight across Argyle Forest, leaving the road, hitting a small tree, a residential fence, a stump and a large tree in the back yard of the residence.

Abrams died at the scene.

There are no signs of alcohol or speed contributing to the crash. Witness statements combined with evidence at the scene point to Abrams suffering a medical emergency prior to the crash, according to JSO.
