Man critical after shooting on Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police were searching for a man with a "Duck Dynasty-type beard" Sunday after a shooting earlier in the morning.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man who had been shot in the front passenger seat of a vehicle. He was taken to the hospital. Police say he was in critical condition. 

Police said the victim was involved in an argument with another man who shot him during the argument on Catoma Street, just a few blocks away from where the victim was found. The injured man's friend transported him to the Timuquana location.

Neighbors want more police presence in the area.

" "I feel like we need more police out here patrolling. We've got schools down the street. People need to watch what they do and be more responsible," said Matthew Kight.

Police describe the person of interest as a skinny white man in his mid-50s, 5-feet 10-inches tall, 6 feet tall with shoulder length hair and a long beard.
