JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police say a man found in the streets of a Southside neighborhood with a gunshot wound has died from his injury.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Dustin Minarik, 34, died after being taken to UF Health, where he was in critical condition.

Police were called to a home located on Kline Road near the intersection of Southside and Beach boulevard just after midnight Sunday morning.

When police got to the scene, they say Minarik was lying in the road with a gun shot wound.

Police said Minarik (pictured) was the neighbor of someone who was holding a house party. They said Minarik was not attending the party and was in his driveway preparing to move his car when he was shot.

JSO said it does not appear that there was any altercation between Minarik and the people at the party.

Detectives are interviewing the people who own the home where the party was held. As of Sunday, no suspects were in custody.

Anyone who has information about the shooting can call crime stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
