ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

A Hastings man has died from injuries he suffered after crashing his motorcycle into a dump truck on Wednesday.

According to deputies, Jimmy Mulholland, 48, was riding his 2008 Honda Goldwing on County Road 214 near Carter Road when he hit the back of a Mack dump truck driven by 22-year-old Jonathan Taylor.

Mulholland, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to UF Health in Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

Saturday afternoon, deputies said Mulholland had succumbed to his injuries.

Taylor was not injured in the accident.

C.R. 214 was shut down for several hours Wednesday morning as deputies investigated the crash and cleared the road.
