Scott Johnson reports on a robbery at the Suntrust Bank just north of downtown. Police say a man in a wig who robbed the bank was caught.  They believe he may have been involved in other robberies.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A man is in custody after robbing a bank just north of downtown, Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Just before 9:30 a.m., a black man wearing a wig and sunglasses entered the Sun Trust Bank, at 1701 North Main Street, and committed a robbery, according to JSO.

The man approached the teller, demanded money, and upon receiving the money, fled the scene, said police.

But the man didn't get far. Units that were close by were able to stop the suspect vehicle, and safely take him into custody, according to JSO.

Police believe the man may have been involved in other robberies, and JSO said it will release more information at a later date.

No firearm was used or threatened during the robbery, according to JSO.
