JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Port Authority board of directors voted Monday to to reopen its search for CEO after the Miami man they voted to hire has withdrew from consideration.

Ten days ago, the board voted unanimously to off the job to current Port of Miami deputy director Juan Kuryla. He was the top choice after a nationwide choice, and the board appointed a committee to begin negotiating a contract with Kuryla.

The JaxPort board on Monday approved reopening the job search.

JaxPort has been looking for a new chief executive since Paul Anderson resigned last fall to become CEO of the Port of Tampa.
