DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

The Florida Highway Patrol says a man involved in a crash on Interstate 95 has jumped to his death from an overpass.

The three-vehicle crash happened Thursday morning near Daytona Beach. As a trooper arrived at the scene, he saw one person walking away.

Sgt. Kim Montes told the Daytona Beach News-Journal the man jumped from the top of an overpass after the trooper made contact with him. She says the man landed on the shoulder of I-95 and was pronounced dead.

Troopers say one of the cars involved in the crash belonged to the man. They say they don't know why he jumped.

No further details were immediately available.
