Man pinned under truck near beach

ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. -

A 24-year-old man lost control of his truck and flipped in the woods near St. Augustine Beach early Monday morning, according to the St. Augustine Police Department.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. 

The man and some friends were leaving a bar, according to police. The man was speeding, lost control and overturned into the woods, police said.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle and the truck landed on him.

The man was flown to UF Health Jacksonville in critical condition.

The driver's identity was not immediately released.
