JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 27-year-old man was sentenced to Thursday afternoon after he was accused of shooting towards his girlfriend.
State attorneys said Bernard Moore, 27, was sentenced to a minimum mandatory 20 years in prison for each of the two counts of aggravated assault he was convicted of in November.

Authorties said Moore must also serve three years for another count of aggravated assault. Those sentences will run consecutively.
Moore was also sentenced to 85 days in the Duval County Jail for his conviction of carrying a concealed firearm and discharging a firearm in public, according to state attorneys.
In February 2012, Moore was involved in an ongoing verbal dispute with his girlfriend. After Moore left his girlfriend's home, officials said she went with friends to a local nightclub, where she was confronted again by Moore.
When the girlfriend returned home later that evening, she found Moore waiting for her to return. As she got out of the car, authorities said Moore threw her to the ground.
After Moore was pulled off of girlfriend by others at the scene, state attorneys said he reached into his waistband, pulled out a gun and shot fifteen times in the girlfriend's direction.
The victim was not hurt in the incident, officials said.
