JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Charlotte McCall, 57, was in her apartment at The Retreat at St. Johns in August of last year when he ex-boyfriend Robert Schulze, 58, came over and shot her in the neck, police said.
Schulze then fled the area and threw away the gun but went back to the apartment and called the police in an apparent change of heart.

By the time he returned to the apartment though, Schulze told police that he found McCall unresponsive.
Schulze will spend the next 32 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the second degree.
