Man shot in chest; suspect known

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A man walked into a hospital for treatment after being shot in the chest Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said the man showed up at the hospital around 10:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

The man's injuries were non-life-threatening.

Police said the exact location of the shooting is undetermined at this time, but the Violent Crimes Task Force and Crime Scene Detectives were dispatched to Wright Avenue and St. Augustine Road in the Lakewood area in reference to the shooting.

Police said the suspect is known, but they are not releasing his name at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
