Police said there was an altercation between two men. They said one was walking down the street and another walked up to him and they began arguing.

"The witnesses are telling us that they aren't really sure what it was over, that there was nothing that was actually said as far as any drug deal or anything like that," Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Bobby Lyle said. "So we're obviously in the preliminary stages of the investigation to find out what the confrontation was all about."

The man who was walking down the street was shot in the face. He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville.

No arrests have been made. Police said they're looking for the shooter.

Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
