KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. -

Deputies in Clay County are trying to identify a man who they said stole more than $15,000 from an auto shop last week.

Deputies were called to Williams Automotive at 7365 State Road 21 about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The owner told them someone went into his shop while he was gone and took about $15,000 in cash, $600 in personal checks and a $30 gift card to a restaurant.

The thief is described as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and in his late 40s. His left ear was pierced, he had a goatee and he was wearing reading glasses, a T-shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

Anyone with any information about the man's identity is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.
