Man sought in car burglaries in Publix lot

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies in Clay County are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a rash of car burglaries at a Publix supermarket on U.S. Highway 17.

Deputies said the man broke windows of two vehicles and and tried to pry open the door of another the night of June 24. They said he stole purses and cash.

The man was seen in surveillance video at a nearby restaurant wearing a red shirt and white shorts.

Anyone with any information on his identity is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.

Residents are urged to not leave valuables in unattended vehicles.
