Todd Unbehagen took this photo of an elephant on the beach in North Redington, Saturday.

Todd Unbehagen was walking on the beach when he spotted an African elephant on the shore.

At first it was a shocking mystery for Unbehagen, who was walking on North Redington Beach, Fla., on the Gulf of Mexico, Saturday.

Unbehagen, an accountant from Tarpon Springs, Fla.,  later learned that the elephant's trainer was nearby.

The elephant was part of the entertainment at a lavish beach house party, and local authorities issued a permit to allow the elephant to be there.

Unbehan captured the moment on video and  took a photo that is reminiscent of a Salvador Dali painting. The photo was his Facebook cover Monday.

"Best selfie ever," his friend Susan Allgoever said.
