JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

One man was arrested after he stabbed his brother in the neck early Tuesday morning in Springfield, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Just before 3:30 a.m. police were notified about fighting going on in a home on 2021 North Market St.

When police arrived, they said they found out 58-year-old Howard Baker was cut in the neck by his brother, 53-year-old Michael Baker, during an argument.

Howard Baker was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. Police later discovered he had a punctured lung.

Michael Baker was arrested on aggravated battery charges, according to police.

Police are not yet sure why the brothers were fighting, but said alcohol was involved.

There was another man in the home during the argument, but police said he did not witness the stabbing.

The incident is still under investigation.
