Clay County deputies are trying to identify a man who robbed two Kangaroo stores last week.

Deputies said the man approached the clerk in the Orange Park store at 1890 Kingsley Ave. about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 19 and demanded money from the register while pointing a black handgun at him.

The clerk took the cash drawer out of the register and placed it on the counter, deputies said. They said the robber then grabbed money from the drawer and fled out the door in the direction of a nearby apartment complex.

According to the victim and witness, the robber appeared to be a white man, was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a red ski mask, latex gloves and was carrying a black handgun. The victim also said the robber had several tattoos on his arms and neck.

At 11 p.m. Sept. 18, the same robber entered the Kangaroo store at 14801 Normandy Blvd. in Jacksonville, pointed a black handgun and demanded money from the clerk, deputies said.

Inside video surveillance shows the robber wearing the same red ski mask and a black hoodie-style jacket. Outside video surveillance shows his face while he is carrying the red ski mask.

Deputies said It appears to be the same robber who committed the robbery in Clay County.

Anyone with information regarding the robber's identity should call Clay County Detective Michael Connors at 904-264-6512.
