JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Jury selection will begin Monday for the trial of a man charged with beating a teenager to death at a bonfire party last year.

Christopher Hoffman is charged in the death of 19-year-old Ryan Ford in January 2013. According to police, a series of fights broke out at a party on private property on the Southside, they say Hoffman punched Ford while he was down and caused his death.

Hoffman was in court Wednesday for a final pretrial hearing. A six-member jury will be selected to hear for the second-degree murder case on Monday, with testimony expected to begin Tuesday.
