Marietta home damaged by fire

Man escaped fire unharmed

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was able to escape his home after it caught fire Thursday morning, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

Around 4 a.m. JFRD was dispatched to 939 Monroe Street in reference to a house fire with a possible person inside.

The man inside the home was able to escape the flames unharmed, according to JFRD.

The home sustained heavy damage due to the fire.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and whether the family can continue to live in the home.
