JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Mandarin residents spoke out Wednesday night about a plans for a development in South Mandarin they say shouldn't happen.

Dozens of people gathered in May to tell city leaders they don't want the farm land along Plummer Grant Road, known as Grace Farms, developed.

Another meeting took place Wednesday night at the Ramada Inn in Mandarin.

The lawyer for the development and City Councilman Matt Schellenberg attended the meeting to hear concerns from residents in the area.

The proposed development would build 67 homes on the Grace Farms area, which is just south of Old St. Augustine Road.

No final decisions have been made about the development. There will be a planning committee report released about the land at the end of August.

The issue will receive full council review on Sept. 23.
