Meth lab found on stove, dismantled

INTERLACHEN, Fla. – Deputies in Putnam County said they found a meth lab on the stove in a home Monday.

Deputies were called to the home in the 200 block of Old Woods Road in Hollister after they said the complainant called the Sheriff's Office after finding the lab in a relative's home.

When deputies arrived, they determined that the lab was active and volatile.

The deputies then evacuated the immediate area and called for the specially equipped and trained
meth lab response unit, which dismantled the lab.

No one was hurt.

The home was later condemned.

The resident was not home at the time but was later located by deputies. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing, deputies said.

The Florida Department of Children and Families was contacted after deputies learned that a young child lives in the home. The child was not home at the time.
