Eric John Gattes

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -

Almost two weeks after Jacksonville Beach police asked for the public's assistance in locating a missing man, officials say his remains were found.

Eric John Gattes’ vehicle was located at a business on Mayport Road on May 12.  Two days later police sent out a notice that he was missing and endangered.

At the time investigators said Gattes was homeless and was believed to be living in the vehicle. Gattes’ fiancé and father told police that Gattes had medical conditions and that he did not have medication with him.

Police said the remains were found in Atlantic Beach last week.  They have not released the cause of death but said no foul play was suspected.
