PENSACOLA, Fla. -

A circuit judge sentenced a 32 year-old Pensacola mother to 24 years in prison for her role in her toddler's death.

Last month, jurors found Jennifer Eiland guilty of negligent manslaughter.

According to the Pensacola News Journal, police say Eiland's 14-month-old daughter, Alana Mae Eiland, was found in the neighbor's goldfish pond.

Prosecutors say she was found unresponsive, 80-feet from her home.

Circuit Judge Jan Shackleford said Jennifer Eiland had a minimal criminal past and took it into consideration when determining her sentence.  She also took into account how Alana's death affected her four siblings.

Neighbors of the family said they had seen the kids play outside without supervision before.
