EAST PALATKA, Fla. – A Putnam County deputy responding to a medical emergency Saturday came upon a man trying to revive his girlfriend after an apparent drug overdose in their car while the couple's 2-month-old child was in the back seat.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Deputy David Blount responded to 336 South Highway 17 at 11:32 a.m. and saw Johnathan Hunt in the front seat of a 2012 Nissan Altima attempting to give CPR to Megan Crabtree. The deputy found a needle and a silver spoon lying on the front seat of the vehicle and believe Crabtree shot up an unknown amount of Dilaudid, which rendered her unconscious.
