JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Monday is the final day to register to vote or change party affiliation in Duval County for the primary election on Aug. 26.

Florida is a closed primary state, meaning voters may only vote for candidates of the political party in which they are registered. All registered voters in Duval County are eligible to cast a ballot on nonpartisan and open primary offices.

Voters may go online to DuvalElections.com and click the voter status tab to learn their status. People may also pick up a voter registration application at the downtown office or any regional branch library.

If a voter needs to update, change the address of a legal residence within Duval County, or submit a name change. It can be done until and including Election Day on Aug. 26.

For further election questions you can contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at 904-630-1414.
