Monday last day to register to vote in primary

Monday is the final day to register to vote or change party affiliation in Duval County for the primary election on Aug. 26.

Florida is a closed primary state, meaning voters may only vote for candidates of the political party in which they are registered. All registered voters in Duval County are eligible to cast a ballot on nonpartisan and open primary offices.

Voters may go online to and click the voter status tab to learn their status. People may also pick up a voter registration application at the downtown office or any regional branch library.

If a voter needs to update, change the address of a legal residence within Duval County, or submit a name change. It can be done until and including Election Day on Aug. 26.
