JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 25-year-old motorcyclist hospitalized after colliding with an SUV Saturday evening has died.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the motorcycle ridden by Eric Wesley Jr.  collided with a red SUV driven by a man in his 50s at 18th and North Main streets about 6:40 p.m.

Paramedics took that motorcyclist to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. The man in the SUV wasn't hurt.

On Tuesday morning, police said the motorcyclist died and provided the victim's name.

Police say traffic homicide investigators got conflicting reports about what caused the crash and were looking to talk to additional witnesses.
