Lenox Avenue motorcycle crash

A 24-year-old man is killed Monday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on the Westside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says Richard Howell was riding east on Lenox Avenue at 1:45 p.m. when he cut through a parking lot to avoid red light at the intersection with Fouraker Road.  When he came back onto Lenox, he lost control of the motorcycle, veered into the westbound lanes and hit the side of a truck.

Howell was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, where he would pronounced dead.

Police say he was wearing a helmet.
