Nassau County man jailed for drugs, guns

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A convicted felon is back behind bars after being arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of cocaine and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Nassau County Sheriff's Deputies, 22-year-old Shavon Tavin Anderson met an undercover deputy in February and sold him cocaine and marijuana.

The undercover officer then tried to arrange the purchase of a half-kilo of cocaine from Anderson for $24,000 in March, but Anderson showed up at the meeting with fake cocaine, authorities said.

According to deputies, when agents moved in to arrest Anderson, he jumped out of the car in which he was sitting and started running.

As he was running, officers noticed a handgun in the waistband of Anderson's pants.  As a convicted felon, he is prohibited by law to have firearms.  Officers said they recovered the loaded weapon when Anderson was caught.
