NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – State attorneys say a 65-year-old Nassau County man was sentenced Thursday afternoon to 20 years in prison after being convicted earlier this month on one count of organized fraud ($50,000 or more) -- a first-degree felony.

In January 2008, Furman Otis Clark, Jr. convinced two victim couples he developed a friendship with that he would provide them with guaranteed investment returns if they were to invest their money in several real estate land development projects.

Instead, attorneys said Clark knowingly used the victims' money for his personal benefit.

Over the course of a year, Clark deprived the victims of $250,000, authorities said.
