New addition to One Spark festival for 2014

There's a new addition to the popular One Spark festival this year. For the first time, The Schultz Center has created Ed Spark. It's a venue to help select creators for One Spark.

Ed Spark is targeting students under 18 to be a creator in One Spark this year. They're also seeking creators with educational themes and projects.

Deborah Gianoulis, the CEO and President of the Schultz Center, said the idea is to bring together like-minded people who are interested in education and learning, while competing for the One Spark Crowdfunding money.

"This is an opportunity for people who are interested in learning to collaborate together," Gianoulis said, "and the five areas that One Spark focuses on can all be education-related. You know, it's art, music, science, technology, innovation and so all of these ideas can be under this umbrealla but all can be connected to learning."

Anyone interested in entering should go to, or register on and register under innovation before Jan. 31.
