New fire station to serve Bartram community

Groundbreaking held Tuesday morning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Fire-Rescue broke ground Tuesday morning on a new fire station that will serve the Bartram area of southwest Jacksonville.

Mayor Alvin Brown joined City Council President Bill Bishop, Councilman Matt Schellenberg and JFRD Director Marty Senterfitt for the groundbreaking of Fire Station No. 62.

The station will be located at 14599 Bartram Park Blvd.

It is expected to be up and running in about six months.
