New human trafficking prevention plan in Florida

Attorney General announced initiative to get medical staff involved

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced a new partnership with the medical community to fight human trafficking. The new initiative gets medical staff involved by teaching them what to look for in trafficking victims.

Bondi says Florida is one of the leading states for this shocking crime.

"We all know Florida ranks third in the calls to the National Human Trafficking Hotline in the entire country and it's got to stop," Bondi said.

The national human trafficking resource center says anyone could be a trafficking victim. These people are often forced into sexual exploitation or labor by force, fraud or coercion.
