New real estate club recognizes top agents

There are over a million real estate agents in America, yet prior to this year, there were no organizations that recognized agents for lifetime achievement nationally.
Now, The Fellowship of Realty Professionals has formed recognizing the top 1 percent of agents for their long term success in consistent sales volume, ethics and integrity.
Only 700 agents met the high standards to be considered. Out of that 700, only five agents in America were chosen as the first founding members, and one of them is Randy Martin with Watson Realty in Jacksonville.
Martin says the induction really means he'll have more resources, like access to other members for networking calls to discuss topics, ask questions, and share ideas and prospects.
"For my customers, it means I am going to have a connection directly to all the top agents throughout the United States," Watson said. "I can benefit from the ideas that they have in their areas. We can network with each other they're obviously working with customers on a regular basis so we can share ideas share thoughts and share customers."
With the government shut down, and other economic indicators, many people are holding off on putting their house on the market in the Spring with a wait and see attitude but Martin says that may not always be the best practice.
"It's always been the idea it's better in the spring to put your house on the market," Martin says. "However our inventory is down about 13 percent so there's not as many houses on the market so you have less competition. Less competition obviously when buyers are out there looking they're going to have fewer to choose from so you're more likely to sell."
