JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is preparing to say goodbye to an officer who died last week in a fiery head-on crash.

Tchenter Wilson, 43, was a 15-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Wilson was driving south on Busch Drive in his personal SUV around 7:30 p.m. June 21 when he crossed into the other lane and hit a tractor-trailer.

Wilson was rushed to UF Health at Jacksonville, where he died.

His cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A viewing was held at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Thomas Family and Life Center on Rowe Avenue in Northwest Jacksonville.

Wilson's funeral is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Evangel Temple on Ramona Boulevard on the Westside. His burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery on Edgewood Ave.
