JAKCSONVILLE, Fla. -

Seven jet ski's have been reported stolen over the last month in the Jacksonville area.

The thefts are occurring in North Jacksonville and along St. John's River in Arlington.

Most of the jet ski's stolen have been from private docks.

Due to the recent thefts, officials are advising owners to:

  1. Secure personal watercrafts the best way possible
  2. Keep all keys and fobs in a secure location away from the watercraft
  3. Be vigilant with watching the docks in your neighborhood for suspicious persons, and report all unusual behavior immediately to police

Anyone purchasing a used watercraft is encouraged to verify the information and serial numbers with a personal watercrafts dealer.
