COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -

A South Florida man died Thursday morning after he was involved in a car crash in Columbia County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The crash happened at the 414 mile marker on Interstate 75 Wednesday night around 8:45.

Robert Vetitoe, 37, of Pensacola was driving a 2013 Chevy Cruze with two passengers.

The report goes on to say that Vetitoe lost control of his car, traveling into the median striking the guardrail. The car then traveled back across I-75 and onto the east shoulder, striking a tree.

The two passengers, Javon Robinson, 34 of Margate, and Ethan Anderson, 28 of Pensacola were transported to Lake City Medical Center.

Robinson died Thursday morning a little after 7 o'clock, according to the Lake City Medical Center.

FHP said Robinson was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident.

Vetitoe was transported by helicopter to Shands Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

FHP is unsure whether Vetitoe was wearing a seatbelt.

Anderson's condition is not known at this time.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, charges are pending.
