It happened at 8:20 a.m. Saturday morning at the intersection of A1A Beach Boulevard and Whispering Oaks Circle.

Police said Sean Surguine, 28, was driving a 2004 Mazada northbound when he hit 88-year-old Ida Buckler.

Buckler was in the crosswalk of Whispering Oaks Circle at the time of the accident.

Buckler was airlifted to UF Health in Jacksonville with possible life-threatening injuries, but she was reported in stable condition.
