OCALA, Fla. -

Police have arrested an Ocala woman accused of swindling another out of thousands of dollars.

According to the Associated Press the Ocala Star-Banner reports police say 28 year-old Tamarah S. Dalton cheated an 89 year-old woman out of $60 thousand.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports the other victim's attorney states a man and woman visited her.

The lawyer says the crime started in late 2011.  He says checks were written, forged and cashed against her bank account.

Marion County Sheriff's detective Adrian Lewis confronted Dalton after finding checks payable to Dalton from the woman's account.  Lewis had found 53 checks.

Dalton admitted writing the checks after first denying to Lewis she received money when they first met.

Authorities have charged her with fraud and larceny and set her bond at $40 thousand.

Dalton remains behind bars at Marion County Jail.
