Man shot, killed in NW Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A man was found shot and killed in the Northside on Monday afternoon, according to Jacksonville police.

Officers were called to a shooting in the 1400 block of Powhattan Street about 12:50 p.m. Police said the killing may have happened earlier in the day.

The man's identity was not immediately released.

Detectives said they were trying to obtain a search warrant to collect more evidence. They said some evidence was already collected from the scene.

One person was being questioned and detectives said they want to speak with more witnesses.
